Gromada DigiEduHack 2024 Story

GROMADA participated in DigiEduHack 2024 with three Challenges that were part of a project training activity on environmental citizen science, targeting Ukrainian university students and teaching staff. The GROMADA Challenges have been ideated and co-designed by Web2Learn within Work Package 3

The Digital Education Hackathon (DigiEduHack) is a grassroots movement that aims to foster innovation, collaboration and creativity and to drive positive change in digital education. It provides solutions to existing and future challenges in digital education.

Learning Pillars

Crash Courses

Students and staff begin with foundational online courses on critical topics such as war-linked threats to water, soil quality in conflict zones, and the legal aspects of citizen-generated environmental data.

DigiEduHack Challenges

These challenges encourage collaborative problem-solving, where participants apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world issues, developing innovative solutions for environmental justice in Ukraine.

Citizen Science Projects

Finally, students engage in community-based monitoring, applying their knowledge to track and address environmental damage in Ukraine.
